Molly Guptill Manning is an author, historian, curator, and associate professor of law at New York Law School. She is a New York Times bestselling author and has written four books: A Librarian’s War, When Books Went to War, The War of Words, and The Myth of Ephraim Tutt. She has spoken across the United States about the power of the written word. Molly has also curated museum exhibits, including “The Best-Read Army in the World” and “Reading Under Fire: Arming Minds & Hearts in Wartime.” Both exhibits explore the essential role that books and reading played during World Wars I and II.

Before she became a professor, Molly worked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit for eleven years and clerked for the Honorable Kevin Nathaniel Fox in the Southern District of New York for two years. She earned a B.A. and M.A. in American history from the University at Albany, a J.D. at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and an M.A. in Museum Studies from NYU. She lives with her family in Manhattan.
